八年级新目标英语课本下册中每个单元都增加了阅读文章, 而在这些文章中出现的词汇和语法都是和目前学习的知识有着一定的差距, 学生阅读起来有一定的难度。怎样给学生更多更有效的阅读知识, 阅读技能, 怎样提高阅读能力是摆在英语老师面前的一个问题。在此, 我想谈谈自己在课堂英语阅读教学中的一些方法。

一、在教学过程中首先向学生强调阅读课的重要性, 使学生在心目中重视阅读课

学生的英语阅读效果常常取决于学生的主观能动性的发挥水平。有的时候, 学生的耐心是很重要的, 大部分学生看到阅读文章, 觉得好长, 在心理上产生一种卷怠的情绪, 没了耐性读下去, 最后导致阅读效果不佳。如果学生对教师的阅读材料背景介绍产生兴趣, 或充分认识到阅读的重要意义, 或受教师和同学的阅读情绪影响等等, 都能使他们提高阅读兴趣, 阅读兴趣浓厚, 对阅读材料的内容、形式等充满好奇心, 有急于获得阅读材料所提供的信息的强烈欲望。所以我在阅读教学导入过程中尽量激发学生的阅读兴趣, 尽量让学生把他们的主观能动性发挥出来。

二、授课之前, 让学生预习并要求学生主动到阅览室或者网上查寻相关的资料

鼓励学生预测所要阅读的内容, 明确阅读任务, 讲解必要词汇。

例如教Unit 1中的Do you think you will have your own robot?时, 我请学生从网络上找相关的图片或者动画片, 并提问学生问题,

What can you see in the videos and pictures?

What do these robots look like?

What can they do?

这样不仅自然地引出这课所要掌握的重要的词汇, 并且把文章中一些学生还未了解的机器人的知识先通过图片让学生有初步的印象, 有效地激发学生的知识背景。

1. 根据文章的内容, 准确把握词义

学生在阅读的过程中每当遇到生词的时候, 总是为之头疼, 一下子就觉得这个文章难, 甚至于放弃整篇文章的阅读。有的成绩好点的同学就开始翻阅字典, 了解单词的确切意义, 其实如果通篇理解全文, 往往不必了解每个单词的确切含义。

例如教Unit 2中的Maybe you should learn to relax!时, 文中有这么一句:Pushy parents are nothing new, but now parents seem to push their children a lot more.pushy这个单词在文中的意思不是很容易理解, 但是当把整个文章阅读完就会了解到英美国的学生没有什么自己的时间可以放松, 那么就可以理解这个词的意思。没有必要去查阅字典了, 所以学生应该学会在阅读的时候放弃一些词, 等到文章的意思概括后在去理解它, 或许理解的更到位。

2. 每个段落都有其中心意思, 理解重点句子, 提高阅读速度

每个段落都有一个句子表达这个段落的主题思想, 这个句子叫主题句, 其他句子则围绕主题句进行说明阐述

3. 猜测文章的内容, 一个文章的题目就是题眼, 题目往往更引发学生的阅读兴趣

现实生活中我们看书, 阅读文章并不是被动地接受知识和获取信息, 而是带着问题进行阅读。教师在教学中应有意识地培养学生对所读文章进行猜测的能力, 如通过文章的标题猜测文章内容, 根据首句猜测段落, 根据开头猜测结尾等。

三、阅读后给学生写作任务, 让学生进行自我巩固

读后的活动可以要求学生书面表达阅读体会, 或就某一话题联系实际进行小组讨论, 在这个用英语的过程中学生发展了英语思维的能力和文章的谋篇布局能力, 这些能力不但有利于提高阅读速度, 培养良好的阅读习惯, 也有利于学生抓住文章要领, 了解文章组织结构的能力及对篇章的推理能力, 巩固了知识点。在读后的活动中特别强调写, 或改写, 或复述。

学生进入八年级以后, 已经完成入门阶段的“启蒙”英语学习;冀教版英语课程又在难度、广度、深度上发生了令学生应接不暇的变化, 其词汇量大, 语言点多, 信息量广, 坡度陡, 课文内容与农村学生的活动空间和生活经验距离很大;进入八年级的新生, 他们在生理及思维上又属于最活跃的发展阶段, 此阶段的学生情绪不稳定, 兴趣和热情一旦消失, 对事物就会表现出一种反感的情绪……诸多因素, 使他们很容易形成“逆反”情绪。下面是笔者采取的一些措施, 敬请各位同仁提出指导意见。

一、从源头上遏制“八年级现象”的蔓延, 首先要有“扶着”他们走一程的耐心

在教学过程中, 我发现有大批的学生尽管在英语学习上处于弱势, 显得一筹莫展, 可是, 他们有许多“闪光点”值得老师及同学们为他们喝彩。为了鼓舞同学的士气, 我在教学中努力创设情境, 培养学生交际能力, 给他们自由会谈的时间和空间, 根据记忆遵循“初次识记—遗忘—再识记—再遗忘—最后巩固记忆”的过程, 教给学生记忆的方法, 如比较法, 联想法, 群体记忆法等, 并把方法教学贯彻于每一个40分钟之中。我决定从最基础的音标教学做起, 决心用心去“扶”他们走一段路程。

二、正视“八年级现象”, 因势利导, 教给学生一些自主的方法, 这一步叫“引着走”

“教是为了不教。”要想让学生自主, 就得培养他们起码的自己能解决问题的独立思考的能力。我发现这些来自四面八方的乡下学生, 单词的学习对他们来说都是“拦路虎”, 因此, 我在课程进度非常紧迫的情况下, 抽出时间来, 专门教授国际音标以及如何利用自己熟悉的汉语拼音结合音标去背记单词, 最好能读其“音”想起“形”, 逐步摆脱“炒豆子”的机械记忆法。正所谓“磨刀不误砍柴功”, 有了一点自主能力的学生, 在课堂上的积极性也会提高许多。

三、善于利用学生的“叛逆”活跃心理, 大胆采取“放开走”的策略

我认为, 掌握课堂就要掌握学生的注意力。教师要适当地在课堂上应用各种现代媒体和直观手段, 创设高雅的课堂艺术, 有效地激发学生进行新的探索, 使学生保持和发展旺盛的求知欲望;交替使用“发现法”“自学辅导法”“启发式”和“直观教学法”, 让学生品尝乐趣, 改革传统的“满堂灌”。如何在有限的40分钟内, 掌握好宏观调控和微观指导, 灵活调整课堂环节, 我想是衡量课堂是否有效的标准之一。学生经过“扶着走”和“引着走”的历程, 我接着采取“放开走”的做法。尽可能地把更多的时间交给学生自己, 让他们自己解决一些力所能及的问题。遇到该讲解的知识尽可能言简意赅, 点到为止。如在讲解现在完成时和过去时的区别时, 我先写两个例句: (1) We bought a computer last week. (2) We have written an article for three years.让学生对比后说出有什么不同。学生七嘴八舌, 他们很容易发现, 这两个句子的标志词不一样。我因势利导说这两种时态尽管都是发生在过去的事情, 而一般过去时往往有典型的时间状语, 如yesterday, last month, this morning等, 现在完成时则有专门的标志词, 如since 1985, for two years, ever, never等。这样在具体的例句中, 学生会总结出这两种时态的结构, 这样效果就会好一些。

四、在适当的时候, 放开学生, 让他们尽可能地“飞”起来

一、词汇呈现时花繁叶茂追求眼球效应

1 . 使用直观手段,唤起学生兴趣。我们处于“眼球经济”的社会,只有抓住学生的注意力,才能更好地开展教学活动。B.Spolsky指出第二语言习得的动力因素包括态度、意愿和努力是语言学习不可或缺的部分。图片最大的优点就是直观,它拉近了文本和读者的距离,降低了词汇的难度。但是如果太多的图片信息出现,就会出现削弱语言的作用。因此在处理图片、实物教具、录音等直观手段的时候,牢记直观手段是为了文本教学服务。

2.建立小组合作,鼓励学生参与。小组合作活动旨在通过交互活动提高课堂教学的效率,它强调人际交往对学生的认知能力发展的促进作用,促使学生在课业、个人成长、学习策略及社会交往技巧得到发展。(Nunan,1992)。小组活动体现了学生的主体地位。小组合作学习鼓励学生人人参与、 主动思考和积极表现等精神。通过小组合作活动,学生的进取意识、创造意识和竞争意识都能较好的得到强化。但是任何事物都是一把“双刃剑”,小组合作活动开展地成功, 能活跃课堂气氛、锻炼学生参与、提高学生团队意识以及增强学生的英语综合能力;然而,如果开展得不好,则往往只是几个英语成绩好、性格外向的学生在控制发言权。课堂观察:在教师布置完任务后,各小组都积极投入到小组讨论中,课堂气氛相当活跃,在教师终止小组合作活动后,各小组都能推荐小组代表发言。但如仔细观察不难发现:发言者要么是小组长要么就是英语底子好的那么几个同学。后进生根本没有足够的表达机会,即使有机会发言,也并非是自己思考所得。

3.巧设教学情境,拉近学生距离。情境教学旨在为学生创设相对真实的语言情景,学生更愿意去接受与他们生活想贴近的课堂。在呈现词汇时,如果这个词汇恰好符合某个同学的特征,将这个词汇造句或者提问题,学生便会产生浓厚的兴趣。在课堂上如果呈现词汇时能用一些学生比较熟悉的话题来呈现,更能引起学生的共鸣。

二、词汇巩固时叶落归根夯实词汇运用

词汇呈现时需要辅以许多手段或者说方法,或吸引学生注意力;或提供给学生交流机会;或创设出真实情景,来扫除词汇上的障碍。然而光有单词的呈现,没有进一步巩固, 短时记忆中的词汇也很快会被淡忘掉。有人说,巩固词汇很简单,只需要背诵词汇就大功告成。笔者认为:巩固词汇需要大量甚至反复背诵。但如何掌握好词汇的数量以及反复的次数也是值得大家商榷的话题。毕竟八年级学生不仅仅是学英语一门功课,而硬逼着学生背词汇,学生也会有逆反心理。那么如何科学地采用策略来巩固单词就是本文需要探讨的另一个重要主题

1.科学记忆,与遗忘做斗争。艾宾浩斯遗忘曲线告诉人们在学习中的遗忘是有规律的先快后慢,如不抓紧在遗忘之前及时巩固,那么遗忘的速度是很快的。所以要学会科学地利用学生的零散时间,见缝插针地进行单词记忆。

2.广泛阅读,与词穷做斗争。词汇量扩大有利于对阅读文本的理解,反之,大量阅读文章有助于词汇的复现,让学生对词汇有熟悉感。研究表明,只有经过5-16次的复现,词汇才能真正被掌握和使用。那么阅读文章浩如烟海,应如何选材是至关重要的。笔者认为选择的阅读文本应具备以下条件:

1话题相同,有归属感。

2生词不多,有操控感。

3贴近生活,有亲切感。大量地阅读浅显易懂的文章, 学生尤其是后进生就能找到阅读的乐趣,也能消除阅读的恐惧感。一旦学生大量阅读与话题相关的文章,单词的复现率就能明显提升,那么单词的掌握与使用程度便会事半功倍。

一、教师在教学的过程中首先要把握重、难点

我认为这是教学中对教师最重要的要求。如果无法很好的把握重难点,则会对重点知识的讲授蜻蜓点水,导致学生也无法分清重、难点。学生在学习的过程中把大量的时间花费在零散知识上,而忽视了重之之重。教师为了更好的把握重难点就要认真的研读教材,仔细研究教学参考,并且做好教学反思,从同学们的错误中反馈自己的失误,不断地摸索和探索。

二、其次语法讲解一定要清楚,透彻

在讲解重点语法的过程中,教师要多举例子,并且要学生造句子,不能光停留在枯燥,抽象的讲解过程中。

三、应加强学生的对话强度,鼓励不开口说英语的学生开口

有些学生是对自己不自信,是因为曾经对话的过程中,出现失误却被老师尖刻的言语刺伤,所以当学生出现错误的时候应微笑着让他坐下,然后再纠正错误。有些同学的对话可能会脱离现实生活,但只要开口说英语就要鼓励。

四、在教学过程中应以学生为主体

整个课堂是学生在开口说而不是老师在干巴巴的讲授,尤其是教材的最后一部分,阅读部分。要使同学们在默读的前提下做课本上要求的练习题,也可以确定几个话题,学生用英语进行讨论,锻炼他们用英文思考的能力,运用所学语言的能力。课文3a部分教材给出了一篇文章然后学生进行阅读,并且每篇文章后面都有若干个问题,在这一部分一定要让学生在默读的前提下独立完成回答问题,锻炼他们的应试能力。

五、八年级英语教学单词仍然是基础

我个人认为应该打好学生的单词基础,在讲授的过程中可以让同学们记它们的同义词及反义词,并且让同学们自己造句子。

六、培养学生们的课文背诵能力

严格要求学生要背诵下来课文,这样可以培养他们的英语语感。

七、当堂巩固,注重反馈

教学时要处处考虑如何发挥学生的主体作用,要以学生的参与程度和教学评价的得失作为课堂教学成功与否的尺度,所以,在学生经过一段学习活动后,进行归纳分析,以鼓励表扬为主满腔热情帮助学生,及时处理反馈信息,当堂巩固,如果时间许可的话,还可引导学生对一些易出错的地方,如人称变化,谓语动词的形式变化、某些习惯表达的异同进行归纳分析,让学生真正地学有所得。

八、注意培养自学能力

“授人以鱼,不如授人以渔”教是为了学生的“学”,是要让学生拥有学习的能力。因此,我重视对学生的课外学习的指导,帮助他们养成良好学习习惯和自学能力。

⑴早读课,坚持听新教材的课文录音,加强听力训练,让学生模仿地地道的英美人语音、语调。

⑵指导学生订出学习英语长期计划和短期安排,每天坚持搞好课前预习,发动家长帮助督促实施。

⑶扩大学生课外英语的摄入量.建议学生收看<<希望英语>>等节目,并鼓励他们多读一些英语小故事,尝试去读一些英文原著。

⑷强调作业的独立完成,培养学生克服困难的意志。帮助学生认识到,做作业实际上是新旧知识的运用过程,一定要养成自觉独立完成作业的习惯。

培养学生认真听课,初步运用英语思维和理解

⑹从音、形、义几方面培养观察力和记忆力,打好语音基础。

⑺用联想对比,归纳演绎等记单词和语法知识。
